Zenith 9S262 Robot Dial: 1938 Console Radio Character
Bring home the distinctive presence of a restored 1938 Zenith 9S262 Robot Dial console radio. This high-end vintage set combines beautiful walnut veneers, quilted maple inlays, and a satin lacquer finish with the mechanical details that make the model so memorable.
The automatic motorized dial pointer, green tuning eye, shutter dial, and large black tuning dial give this Zenith an unmistakable personality. It is the kind of vintage radio that commands attention in a listening room, study, library, or carefully restored interior before it even begins to play.
Restored Nine-Tube AM and Shortwave Radio Performance
The nine-tube chassis receives the standard Broadcast band from 550 to 1700 KC, plus two Shortwave bands from 1.7 to 18 MC. The radio has received an electronic recap restoration, with electrolytic capacitors replaced with new-production parts, and its tubes and resistors checked and replaced as needed.
New dial belts support smooth motor operation and tuning. An upgraded speaker, adjustable Beehive bass booster, and chassis input let you connect an iPod, phone, LP player, CD player, electric guitar, or another audio source. A free bluetooth receiver is included with your purchase. An outside antenna or long wire is necessary for old tube-radio reception.
A Restored Zenith Console for Collectors and Custom Listening Spaces
This Zenith 9S262 antique radio is a compelling choice for collectors, vintage-electronics enthusiasts, and anyone who wants a substantial period console with real listening capability. The original wood Zenith knobs, reproduction grille cloth, clean chassis, and full cabinet restoration preserve the look and feel of the era while the upgraded audio components make the set more enjoyable to use.
